Omnipresence is even better than being there! You can have superman on one camera, but you'll never acheive the presence of cutting between different perspectives if it's a "live" action that can't be repeated for the camera. We are all so used to seeing events this way now, be it music concerts, presentations, performances and it's the way film language and TV have trained us. One camera just doesn't "cut it" for even a mildly active live event. Action directed to the camera allows us to shoot different versions from different angles and collect "B-roll" shots for the later edit. Surely I'm preaching to some of the converted.... Our team has broad experience in multi-camera coverage of all types of events. We offer 2 camera HD or SD coverage using matched, calibrated looks (synced by flash card) with the Pro-HDV JVC GY-HD200 cameras. These can be switched live by a technical director for live "giant screen" projection, streamed live to an internet audience, and recorded to a master deck. Ideally for most purposes, the decisions are made in post production, where we are very experienced at quickly creating a smooth presence for the viewer, and use multi-camera specific eiting tools. Call us to allow a custom quote of these services for your needs. Two cameras with operators long experienced at working together costs far less than covering a second event, yet transforms the coverage into an archive worthy of viewing again and again. Of course, a fully directed multi-camera production can also be a complex affair, with cabling layouts, communication systems and some serious planning. We have a mini-jib which adds awesome presence, studio remote controls, remote monitoring, and agile hand-held operators who can find some great compositions. There are bigger operations out there for massive events, but we challenge all comers to get the coverage we provide for that almighty dollar. |
