The camera is in excellent condition. Drum hours: 97 Fan hours: 174. (The first is actual taping use, the second is time the camera has been turned on.) Clients of mine bought their own JVC cameras for the production work I shoot for them. This has had light use by me only, with professional care & handling. Lens has always had UV filter attached. I firmly believe that this camera is the top contender in this price bracket - I'm selling only because of my needs for a more expensive model already purchased.
This is a pro ENG/EFP oriented HD camera, not practical for most consumer use. Ergonomics are broadcast standard (shoulder mount, manual switching, NO autofocus, servo zoom, direct iris control, etc). This takes time to be learn, but will be instantly comfortable for those used to pro equipment.

Note that this kit includes the optional $3000 17x lens. The standard (16x) lens sold with this camera is the weak link in overall performance. The extended range is wide angle with this lens, and the performance at telephoto is not marred with distortion and chromatic aberration.

Mine will record 7 hours of 720 24p HD. These units transform the camera & editing experience - You are editing your material in minutes without any capture issues or lost time - the quicktime files are immediately available on the drive. You can simultaneously record to tape for archiving.

I have a home made aluminum bracket, which looks a little funky, but holds the hard drive in a better place than the commercial one, and also has a secondary place to mount a wireless receiver in tandem. This is totally removable without a trace, included.

This is a VERY thorough resource on ProHD covering this camera specifically. Highly recommended for both beginners and experienced cinematographers for getting up to speed quickly. This has tremendous production value, and considerable content with detailed navigation.
I'm including 2 SD cards with custom setup profiles created by 3rd parties for this camera. Paolo's "True Color" a popular saturated look balanced from calibrated cards; Dashwood's complete series including DSC balanced, low light, super-wide (low contrast), and looks emulating The Matrix, Amelie etc - plus a few of my own. The settings can be found online and manually entered, but it is a bit tricky & time consuming to set them all up for instant preset card access like this. These "looks" are a vast improvement over the manufacturer default settings using the extensive process settings and preset looks capabilityt built into the camera.
Original boxes, paperwork, all manuals/addendums in good condition, DVD-R with pdf manuals, preset backups/samples & other support files.

Good for all formats recorded with this camera, 720p @all frame rates/ standard DV, large format tapes, DV-CAM (playback only). I never used the camera as a deck or for tape capture. I may sell the deck at some point, but would have to first transfer HD tape archives to digital files and consider DV replacement decks for my studio. Let me know if interested for inclusion at a great price.
